This article aims to analyze the application of al-bidayah method in reading Kitab Kuning and its obstacles Islamic boarding schools. The research uses qualitative methods with an exploratory approach. was conducted at Daar el Hasanah Boarding School, Jawilan District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. Collecting data through direct observation, interviews ustadz students, document studies. processing technique carried out by means verification, presentation, reduction, drawing conclusions from results. analysis results is done interpreting concluding findings. showed that combined existing programs El School very effective developing ability students read understand Kuning. found school are be beginners, memorize a lot rules, have solid student learning time.
